Q What safety and security measures will there be on Tribe Israel Tour?
A We will have a fully trained and experienced security guard with the group at all times. We also work with the Cheder Matzav (Official Israeli Security Team) through which ggg our group leaders communicate with Israeli Security and Intelligence to check that all activities can carry on. They will advise us if anything needs to be changed on our itinerary.
Q How is the Tribe Israel Tour going to be staffed?
A We have two Tribe madrichim, a licensed tour guide and a security guard/first aider per group. There will also be a Tribe professional overseeing the programme based in Israel.
Q It’s not just fun stuff is it?
A It is impossible to be in Israel without learning because of the historical surroundings and positive Jewish atmosphere. But of course, we’ll learn while we have loads of fun!
Q How can parents keep in touch and share what’s been happening?
A We’ll post a daily blog with photos on our website. It is advised that British mobiles are not brought along due to the high roaming costs. However, we are providing an optional Israeli mobile phone for each participant (there will be a small fee) and we will encourage regular calls to keep in touch (although parents will have to cover the cost of these calls!). There will also be pay phones in the youth hostels and hotels.
Q Does the price include travel insurance?
A The cost of the tour includes full travel insurance arranged by the United Synagogue. Details of the cover can be found in the Terms and Conditions.
Q What about medical insurance?
A Medical insurance is included in the price of Tribe Israel Tour. Special health problems or circumstances must be declared on the application and may require extra cover.
Q What about financial protection?
A In order to protect your payments and adhere to Tour Operator regulations, your booking for Tribe Israel Tour will be with West End Travel. The air packages on Tribe Israel Tour are ATOL protected by the Civil Aviation Authority. ATOL number: 938. Please see our booking conditions for more information.
Q Can flights be changed so participants can come back earlier or later than the rest of the group?
A Provided that notice is given, flights may be changed for an administrative fee of £40 plus the difference in the cost of the flight/ flights will be charged to the parents.
Q How will the tour be getting around Israel?
A We will be using a private coach (with seat belts) for travel - not public transport. The security guard will be present on all journeys and will be with the group at all times.
Q What type of accommodation will the tour be staying in?
A We will be staying in a variety of high quality youth hostels and hotels that have been checked prior to our arrival.
Q Will there be opportunity for free time?
A Free time will be given in designated areas based on advice from the Cheder Matzav. There will always be Madrichim in the area at these times.
Q Will family be allowed to visit if they’re in Israel at the time?
A We will do our best to accommodate visits wherever possible. Advance notice should be given to facilitate this.
